Gawd!
My kid's playlists are on here. Justin Timberlake? Outkast?!
That is embarrassing... Honest, I didn't play that stuff!

Love to bash Micro$oft, too; but...I don't see this copy/paste problem in any other app that I use.
The data is obviously in the clipboard, if I launch BBedit or Dreamweaver the data is there to paste. Something happens when Bill Gate's babies get launched, his demon seeds eat the contents of the clipboard. Probably first sending the data back to Redmond for further examination.
What program launch process would wipe the clipboard?

i disnae understand.

...it makes...
...me...
...mad...

Subject: Microsoft "feature"
I have a problem. Well, I have several problems, but today's is an annoying "feature" of Microsoft Office 2004. If I try to copy anything from anywhere and paste it into a Word or Excel file, the clipboard is bare. No paste. This only happens when Word or Excel is not running. If they are running, then everything works as it should, no problem. But the act of starting up the program seems to erase the clipboard.

Try this for hours of fun:
Copy something-->Fire up Microsoft Word-->Paste
Does it work? Or is there something amiss with my Mac? I'm running 10.4.8 with the latest Microsoft Office 2004 bug fix.

Gotta disagree a wee little bit. Getting into legal trouble with the SEC for fraud, theft, misleading, whatever, is courting disaster. I don't think that any listed, publicly held company can take that risk. There are obvious exceptions like Enron, but they were headed over the cliff anyway. They got into legal trouble for their stealing ways as the roof was coming down. Apple is on a market run and I can't believe that those stock options would be worth the damage. Look at what happened to AAPL stock in the days that their legal trouble was announced: from 92 to 82 with 900 million shares outstanding of means a change in market value of 9 billion dollars.

That is a lot of money, even to me...!

I do believe that DVD drive is a sealed unit. I have no doubt that you can get it apart(!) but you will never get it back together. Not to mention the legal issues of warranties and courting other disasters. Can you see any of the label? I have used a very long skinny pair of tweezers to pull a mini-CD out of a slot load Mac mini. Just be real careful!

Take it to an Apple store....! Get some kid who wasn't even born when that was built! Bring along a friend with a video camera, this could be the YouTube post of the year!

Damnedest thing happened here. I may be a victim of identity theft. I bought all kinds of shiny new electrical gadgets for the kids and the little lady. Wrapped em up all nice and paper and ribbons, everyone agreed that Mr. Claus was wonderful, but my credit card has all of the charges on it! Why? If this Claus dude is going to get all the credit, why do I get the charges???
It is not right.

Lookkee here:
Crack open the calculator plist ~/LibraryApplication Support/Calculator/FinancialRates.plist with something like MS Word.
See all those spaces between the <string> Currency Name </string>?
That is part of the problem. But even if you delete the spaces, the conversion boxes are the right size but you still can't see the currency.

Your search - "mutant grandma parker" - did not match any documents.

Suggestions:

    * Make sure all words are spelled correctly.
    * Try different keywords.
    * Try more general keywords.

However, googling "bicycle stolen mutant grandma parker" reveals that other people have used those five words before...
Color me: speechless!

In the twenty-first century we have gotten very good at tracking hours and days, but less so with years and lifetimes.

Well, now.
I was all prepared to make a snotty, cynical comment. And I can't.

This must be one of the knock-offs of "lonelygirl15". Psycho-trauma on the web as advertising.
I wonder what is going to happen next?!

However, even with my public school math, this log started over 14 years ago. Truly amazing that he has been keeping a log this long, across who knows how many computers, hard drives, operating systems, etc.

That has to be the log book of one of the world's most miserable people.
Or maybe one of the world's most dangerous.
Who is "Graham"? Why was he "euthanized"? No one who has ever had a pet has ever "euthanized" the pet. Pets are "put to sleep". Humans are "euthanized". This guy has killed someone and now it is public knowledge.  :eek:

It is a conspiracy. The ink jet manufacturers buy time-share condos on the beach in the Caribbean for the guys who write the printer drivers.
